down time

during a 2 1/2 week stint as fill-in for the Payroll dept while someone was holiday, i seem to have developed a repetetive stress injury in my right hand. i guess working at someone else's station, which was not set up for me, was enough to do it. so i'm on 'modified duties', have a hand splint to wear, must take anti-inflamatory drugs, and won't be keyboarding much for a time. not that i've been posting much of late, but i won't be able to comment on the posts of others either, which i'll miss very much. so, for those who care, though you may not hear from me, i'll still be checking in on you, because life would just be too dull without you.

on the up side, i think i've just stumbled on a way to attach pictures from my computer files, so maybe i'll post some images instead of words

:o)

i miss chatting with you already

Rest is the best solution.

Try Picasa for downloading pictures!

You need to import your pictures into Picasa, where the pictures can be emailed to others or posted to your blog.

It’s an excellent programme and user friendly.

Once installed just highlight your pictures (up to 4 at a time) and then press Blog this. You will need to log into your Google account linked to your blog to complete the posting.

I find it easy and quick to use but let me know if you have any difficulty.
Best wishes

Web address to download the free programme is

http://picasa.google.com.au

thanks Lindsay... i'll have to do that @ home if i ever get the computer going @ home. i use it so seldom there that i haven't set it up in the new place. the corporate filter @ work won't let me download programs that aren't part of the corporate package. because we're on the stock market, security is a very big thing.

happy spring. hope your summer isn't as blistering this year. we've been seeing the odd small flurry of snow already, so our winter isn't far off.

sorry you are having strain problems. working at desks is a dangerous occupation. there is a thing called 'ergonomics' where an ideal way of working can be reached, i tried pointing out this to my boss, and the desk still causes injury-bruises to knees and thigh due to drawers and a cupboard, sore shoulder having to reach for the pay till. oh- ha- really, he laughed. and he's a chiropractor who has to fix strain in people?
oh, ha, i laugh sadly myself....

hi Claire - the really funny thing (as you say, oh - ha!) is that just prior to this injury we had an ergonomics 'specialist' do a session in our office. my desk setup was changed and all. then i had to do a 2 1/2 week stint at someone else's desk, in someone else's new setup, as she was away on holiday, and i was filling in for her. and that appears to be what has caused the injury. and it seems very slow to heal. shouldn't be @ the keyboard at all, but i'm feeling sorry for myself and wanted to whine. thanks for dropping by.
