the end of the world

today is the end of the world for a young woman i know. her husband was the passenger in a vehicle that rolled on a country road last night, killing him. the driver was released from hospital this morning, with minor injuries.

they have a daughter, soon to reach her first birthday.

they'd bought their first home - a fixer upper, and were planning their futures together. looking forward to raising a family and growing old together.

now there is no future together for them.

it will be a day of many kleenexes.
